Special Educator Wins Second State Award
If the first time's the charm, the second time is even better!
Director of Secondary Special Services Theresa Griffin-Golden is the state's first two-time winner of the New Mexico Council of Administrators of Special Education (NMCASE) Maggie Cordova Administrator of the Year Award. The award, given annually by the organization, recognizes exceptional service by administrators of programs for special needs students. Theresa received the award this summer.
The award is named after Maggie Cordova, RRPS's first Executive Director of Special Services, and a nationally-renowned expert in providing special services to children. Maggie passed away in 2005, and Maggie Cordova Elementary in Rio Rancho is named in her honor.
