Students who would like to be considered for most of our UNM scholarships will need an application, official test scores, and an official high school transcript submitted and received by December 1st.

Changes to FAFSA
Beginning in the 2017-18 academic year, the FAFSA will become available in October rather than January. In addition, families will be asked to report income from two years prior ("prior-prior year"); that is, they will draw on their 2015 tax information. Join us at the College Board Forum to hear about the benefits, opportunities, issues, and implications associated with these changes.

Students interested in student loans
Students interested in student loans: The Schmann Foundation offers RRPS students loans for college that is given is half a point below prime, 2.75%, which is way below what federal loans are at this time. Students dont have to pay the loan back until they finish their studies, but they must continue to have passing grades and be exceeding in the academic setting. If they have good grades and pay on the loan when required, they could have the interest forgiven as well so then they are only paying the principal.

Adrian Garcia Memorial Scholarship
The Adrian Garcia, Jr. Scholarship will award a $1,000 scholarship to a 2017 V. Sue Cleveland High School graduate. The scholarship will be given to a student who has participated (at any time during high school) in track OR football. The “most deserving” awardees as determined by the selection committee.

Suncat Scholars
Starting in fall 2014, CNM launched a new comprehensive scholarship program for first time, full time freshman. Suncat Scholars is designed to help associate-degree seeking students earn degrees as quickly as possible, with a goal of graduating within 2 years. Suncat Scholars aims to do this by providing social, academic, and financial supports.

This event will be held at Hope Christian but all students are invited. The current list of colleges who will attend include Arizona Christian University, California Baptist University, Colorado Christian University, Dallas Baptist University, Life Pacific College, Lubbock Christian University, Oklahoma Baptist University, Point Loma Nazarene University, and The College at Southwestern. Elks National Foundation Scholarship
The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2017 competition.
  • Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply.
  • Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.
  • College students are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.
  • Male and female students compete separately.

Stokes provides a tremendous opportunity to gain valuable experience in your field while attending college and getting a degree. Stokes is open to high school seniors planning on majoring in computer science or computer/electrical engineering. here for application
American Indian Scholarships
This scholarship is awarded to help Native Americans students of any age, any tribe and in any state striving to get an education at the undergraduate or graduate levels. However, undergraduate students are given preference. All awards are judged based on financial need and academic achievement.Applicants must be Native Americans (proof of American Indian blood is required by letter or proof papers) in financial need and have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher. There will be no exceptions.This is a one-time $4,000 award.

New Mexico Schools
New Mexico Legislative Lottery Scholarship
New Mexico Legistlative Lottery Scholarship covers full tuition for 8 consecutive semesters must maintain a 2.75 GPA and take 15 or more credit hours.
To be eligible:
1. Students must complete a minimum of 15 new credit hours for the first semester following graduation from NM high school (must be a New Mexico resident, U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien.)
2. Must earn at least a 2.75 GPA at the end of the first semester of college.
New Mexico Legislative Lottery Bridge to Success Scholarship
New Mexico Legislative Lottery Bridge to Success Scholarship covers up to $1,500 of the first semester tuition immediately following high school.
To be eligible:
1.) Student must earn 23 ACT (1070 SAT) and 2.5 GPA in high school
