Homecoming Dances

In an effort to provide students with an opportunity to attend a milestone event in their high school careers, Rio Rancho Public Schools has decided to allow high school Homecoming dances to take place this school year. There will be strict safety protocols in place to reduce the risk of anyone contracting COVID-19. The following rules will be in place for this year’s high school homecoming dances:

  • The Homecoming Dances for both Rio Rancho High School and Cleveland High School will take place outdoors on Oct. 2

  • The following will be required for entry to the dances:

    • A Face mask - it must meet NMPED face covering rules located on page 12 of the NMPED COVID-19 Response Toolkit for New Mexico’s Public Schools

    • Temperature check at entry; Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will be denied entry

    • Everyone will be required to complete a screening survey PRIOR to entering the dance - a special QR code will be provided to students by the schools

    • Guests from outside the Rio Rancho Public Schools system will not be permitted

    • All students MUST have their RRPS student ID with them to enter

    • A refund voucher will be issued to anyone who is symptomatic and denied entry to the event after purchasing their tickets

These entry rules will be strictly enforced to assist in providing as safe of an environment as possible for our students and staff. We understand the importance of this dance to our students, and we will do everything we can to ensure they are able to enjoy this special evening while remaining safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
